Williamson County Animal Center - Franklin, Tennessee
906 is proud to be the Architect of Record for the new Williamson County Animal Center along Old Charlotte Pike Road E in Franklin.
Designed in partnership with Shelter Planners of America, a nationally-renowned firm that specializes in animal centers of this type, the over 33,000 square-foot facility represents the latest in animal-centric design and will set a new standard for facilities of this type. The Center will serve as a valuable resource for both the animals and animal lovers of Williamson County for many years to come.
Ease of operation and the creation of a user-friendly experience were the guiding principals of design and separate entry lobbies serve each of the adoption, impound, and medical areas. Notable features of the center include the dedicated medical wing with a state-of-the art surgery center, a variety of volunteer support areas, a 1,200 square-foot education hall, a 1,200 square-foot indoor dog training area, a quarter-mile walking track and a dog park. The center has the kennel capacity for 86 dogs and space for over 100 cats, including 8 free-roam rooms, and all spaces have been situated to insulate both animal types from the sounds and smells of each other.
